I've been working through alot of this in the past year - with my family (of origin) my children (extending grace to them) as well as co-workers and church situation. The one thing in your list of "Four Promises of Forgiveness" is that these are all wonderfully true.....we should hold grudges, remind, etc., etc. BUT, God has given us this wonderful brain that is there to keep us safe. Safe from "re-hurt", safe from returning to potentially harmful or tempting situations to fall into again. Safe from ourselves as well as others.
